Shop

Welcome to my wonderful world of handmade lampwork beads and handcrafted jewellery .

I enjoy making handmade beads that are not mass produced and have that original feel and look. As my beads are not mass produced not every bead is the same and can vary ever so slightly . This is why I feel excitement each time I melt glass as each time is like the first time. Any imperfections are stated in my descriptions so buyer please be aware .

Enjoy looking at my beads.
It is our imagination that lets us create these wonderful designs.

Whilst the rest of you are nice and warm

So the match is finally over, England I am talking about, they play S**t and I did not even watch there matches, in the next coming days they deserve all the negative feedback from all those fans that had such high hopes.

Well enough of something I do not understand or care really that much about. The husband is annoyed the son is bloody furious but hey there is always next time.

I made these Thursday I think or was it Wednesday I am not to sure now.

Above are Thai Orchid glass again ( love the colour ) and silver stringer whilst trying out some swirls.

Below is a set of blue transparent glass with ivory polka dots

This is CIM blue glass below the name I cannot remember at the moment a heart with some beads to match.

Below I did some focals , the smaller ones shape reminds me of that doll you can open up and another doll comes out. The larger one I liked the shape it was creating. A potters wheel piece and your first ever piece of pottery.

Then the lentil , not sure on silver stringer really but as you can see it decided to form into the shape of some sperm ( well I think it looks like sperm , don't you ! )

Son played footy yesterday

The son played with the Whalsay football team on Saturday, we popped by as he has instructed us not to go and watch as we are embarrassing ( does this mean the teenage years are starting ). Anyway we popped along just to see the first match.

Whether or not they win we as parents are very proud that he plays and enjoys his day

Gone baby gone

Yeah , and a big thank you as you know who you are . These two bracelets are now with a new home.

Monday 21 June 2010

Here they are

The beads I made the other day I have made up into a bracelet and used one of the focals to make a necklace. Thinking of that warm weather , I know this will brighten any ones outfit.

I just love

I just love it when I can make beads now that I want to make when making jewellery.

This is gun metal , it is a black colour that when you put it back into the flame goes like an oil slick. that is the only way I can describe it. Lovely and shinny.

It is all scrummy and will go with the all white bracelet I made .

Summers here , Not !!!!!

It was freezing yesterday the storage heaters went back on much to my disappointment because of he cost of running them but 4 layers of clothing and you are still cold then any form of heating will do. Really pleased with the outcome of these.

These are baby step focals that will be put on cord.

Thursday 17 June 2010

At it all day

You wish or do I wish , anyway enough of that. I was in the tardis all day yesterday , still doing plain beads but I had a summer feeling going on with the first lot of beads, then I wanted to try the gun metal colour although I have to make a few more as I did not do enough .

Gun metal below looks like a oil slick.

Colours and ivory although I find it breaks up in colour not as solid as the white for polka's.

Broadband Grrrrrrrrrrrr

Broadband went off again yesterday . A whole 24 hrs later we have it back again.
Yesterday was my birthday and for the first time in many many years I was actually in a good mood on my birthday. Mid - Thirties and the twenties have defiantly gone. I find I like my thirties I feel comfortable in knowing that I have learned alot made many mistakes learnt nothing from them and will learn so much more as the years continue.

So here is what I made on my birthday

Some big hole beads in 5mm mandrel although too big for my earrings so I need the next size down. But these will be great for bracelets or necklaces. I will be doing more of these.

The colour above is Thai Orchid and Ivory . I really really like this colour.

Mum has a 60's night party

My mum has a sixties night do to go to , these are what I made up for her to wear for the evening . Something bright and funky that is also light to wear.

Over the weekend

The broadband has been out for 36 hrs again and we have only just got it back again.

Friday night we saw these whilst waiting for the ferry back home. They were a way off so I had to put the camera on full zoom. Can you see what I can see ??

The I made these wonky England Beads to make the wonky England team feel better. Although apart from the wonky lines my England Beads turned out better on the night than the England team's playing.

And this lentil this amazing lentil that I did yesterday as my last bead for the day, I just put the glass together and this is what I ended up with.

All made up

I am off out tonight to see a friends work displayed at Shetland College.

So I thought I would make up a heart of my very own and wear it tonight.

Two Hearts ( The Doctor Has )

The weather is freezing I am ruddy cold. It is nearly the longest day and after that the days will start to get shorter. It feels like 4 degrees not the weather you would expect in June.

I made these yesterday to go with the other days I have used these colours. Now I have them out of my system I will be thinking of what colours to try next over the weekend as it is World Cup I shall be in the Tardis so I do not have to hear the screaming at the telly when the matches are on.

Thursday 10 June 2010

Not had broadband

The broadband has been out for 2 days, yes you heard it 2 days and it only came on this afternoon. Thank goodness for that.

I have been playing with a clear green and blue ( no labels ) so I have no idea on the colours , Ivory and silver stringer. I also decided to try and go bigger on the beads and some focals that were not pressed. 3 focals broke as they were too thin at the ends. But if you do not get things wrong then you never learn.

These are my finished products

The gas is a problem I think I shall have to go on the forum for advice and find out so I only managed 3 hearts today. I hope they will turn out , I ask Pinkie everyday to be kind and show me nice beads.

Pants to the next step

A quick post to say Pants and Pants , I shall post my failed attempt at flowers and encasing toms. I know where I have gone wrong , but right from the silver stringer I tried to pull it all was pants, even the plain beads are pants. So not a very good session today at all Pants Pants Pants

Next Step

Maybe after trying some flower beads. I am thinking about trying to learn to encase the bead. I have download some tutorials ready to have a go. Basic encasing and thick encasing . Oh help !!!

Where is down the road help when you need it or would like it.

I am also looking more into the colours I choose now and for when I will reorder on glass . I am gonna give this CIM a go and see what beads I can make out of these. I do not have an idea what I want to do or what path it will take me down. It is all about the practice at the moment.

On a different note, I gave in yesterday and put the storage heaters back on in the house. Son was moaning he was freezing and it is still cold outside now. Locals think it is fine weather I expect because there is no rain or high gale force winds. Which it is good believe me it is. Just us people from mainland UK need that bit of heat or central heating would be nice. ( I wish ) would cost a fortune up here. We are in June and I am still wearing layers of clothing. Bit of close weather and sweaty bodies does not do any harm I say. Bring it on.

Saturday 5 June 2010

Citrus Zest

For all of you on the mainland Uk , having all that warm weather . I made this to go with those summer dresses and sweaty tops that you are all wearing. Whilst I have just walked the dogs in 3 layers of coat, woolly hat and gloves. I am not jealous nope not at all ( yeah right !! )

His Sunset

Polkas Last

Last of the Polkas for a while, these are what I did yesterday , next I am gonna try flowers until I am flowered out or I get some that are good enough to use. Which ever is first.

Last nights sunset around 9.10 . Picture is not as good as the husbands . But it did look amazing last night and warmed up our freezing lounge, a nice red glow.

Piss pot anny did not want her water from her bowl , the girls bowl or our glasses by the bedside side table. Nope she wanted the cleanest part of the house.

Polka me Silly

One more lot after today and that is me Polka finished. 5 hours and a bit I was in the Tardis for. I had to pick bratty up from the ferry so I packed up for the day.

I am also missing my family really bad this week. I have my mum and sister and for the past few weeks been missing them really bad. Even the hubby's family. Hubby's BDay tom so no beads for me instead taking him for a birthday lunch , that's if a bird does not come out that he would much rather go see instead.

Wednesday 2 June 2010

Yet more Polka's

Still not Polka Polka out yet. Nearly there but not yet . Cold wet and windy up here so yesterday and today I have spent in the Tardis . Plus I burnt myself on Pinkie today. The mandrels I have some are too short and they get really really hot so that's how I burnt myself today. Note to self "It really hurts & must get cream ".

This is what I did with the blues I made. It has already gone to a home . Looks nice on too so I have made myself one in a different colour, not sure what it is until it comes outta Pinkie tomorrow

Tuesday 1 June 2010

Whilst you have a Bank Holiday

We do not have one up here. So I made these yesterday , not the hens that was the day before with the sunshine. The beads I made the beads.

Our hens sunbathing yet again , very very looked after hens.

More Polkas which I shall continue to do today, it's bugging me not getting the dots right. So I shall continue to be anal about these things. Some more Blues and Whites as I have a project for them and some other colours to try if I get the time today.
