Welcome to my wonderful world of handmade lampwork beads and handcrafted jewellery .

I enjoy making handmade beads that are not mass produced and have that original feel and look. As my beads are not mass produced not every bead is the same and can vary ever so slightly . This is why I feel excitement each time I melt glass as each time is like the first time. Any imperfections are stated in my descriptions so buyer please be aware .

Enjoy looking at my beads.
It is our imagination that lets us create these wonderful designs.

Long time no post

It has been forever since I have posted anything ... For that I am sorry and even more sorry that I have nothing whatsoever to post now. My first time in the shed was yesterday and it is like starting all over again. The beads that came out are pants even more pants than I normally do ..

The reason for this is a mixture of things .

1. A new job.
2. Still doing the old job as well.
3. Being a wife
4. Being a mother.
5. Housecleaner !!!
6. Constant Cook.
7.Taxi !!
8. Tired from all the above
9. No mojo
10. Guilt

Yes no 10 on the list is the main reason . I feel guilty  that if I am not doing one of the above on the list and I am in the shed for hours on end I cannot concentrate and I feel guilty that I should be doing other things.  I know , I know I hear you shouting at me but I do not think I am alone here , not when we sit down and think about it ..

Melting glass is not a 5min task , we have to put time and commitment into it . Which in the end means we have to learn to be selfish at times ,something I expect alot of people will find hard. Not only to get a routine going in the first place but also pushing away that guilty feeling when we want to go into the shed to melt some glass.

I seem to be doing alot of putting off at the moment something I know I will have to tackle head on.

Roll on sunshine and longer days I say ,that makes you want to get out of bed in the morning ......

New Cabs oh happy days

A quick post as I have had to go out and get a " proper " job !!!!!

The less said about that the better as it is not about beads ...

Anyway last Sunday I made Cabochon's with Manda's Tut .

So here is my first attempt. I am not keen on using their Mandrel so I am doing it freehand using a screw and nut mandrel from Little Castle Designs , but that is just what I prefer . Everybody is different so if you can, try both types and see what works for you.

These other beads are just playtime beads ...

It's been a while

But I thought I would show you what I have been making with my beads that I have made over the past few months. I know it has been a long while since I last showed you jewellery pieces but I have made loads so I shall be putting them slowly onto my Etsy site. I feel so chuffed that I have got to the stage that I am making my own beads to go with my own jewellery designs.

Here are just a few new designs..

After getting that excited that I nearly wet myself , here are the results

So here are the ' Stormed Beads '

The ' Stormed' bit is the bit in the middle of the bumps .

So 1st nights attempt .

The 2nd day

The 3rd day

I tried to do some full round beads that gave the same effect but it did not work and I have no idea on what to do next regarding these beads. As shown on the right hand side of the photo below. So I was a bit disappointed this morning regarding them, but the bumpy ones I want to lick them all and hide them away .

Hope you like xx

I got sooooo excited I nearly wet myself

Oh yes I did . Read this twice I nearly wet myself indeed I finally bought myself the storming tutorial byAmy Kinsch . I then had to wait until hubby went to bed this afternoon ( he's working nights until Jan 2012 ) before I could escape into the shed & escape I did. Just doing the first section for storming got me jumping up and down in my seat. Bursting with OMG OMG OMG and listening to Radio 2 . So as I did not have all the glass she stated I made do with what I had and played . Now all I have to do is wait until the morning.

So a sacrifice of the son again has been made to the kiln fairies . I hope they like smelly 13yr olds with attitude . Before I can see if this storming has worked, even if just one bead and one dot works I will be happy .. Pics to follow if it works.

Enjoy your evening xx
